Mål og Mæle is a popular science magazine about language and linguistics. It covers everything, from the smallest comma and the smartest apostrophe — to the biggest: will Danish survive the American-English deluge of new words and expressions? And who really decides the language?

Since 1975, Mål og Mæle has been a supplier of linguistic awareness to both the queen, the people and Danish teachers. With a tradition of being the first with linguistic news, Mål og Mæle has revealed what concerns and irritates Danes most about their language, where linguistic trends come from, and why it's o.k. to appreciate some and frown on others. In Mål og Mæle you could read about the reading skills of adult Danes before the problems became known; here you get insight into right and wrong, and the debate about good and bad language gets plenty of nourishment, among other things through the readers' letter box.

Mål og Mæle was awarded the Poul Henningsen Culture Prize in 1987 for having "sharpened the sense of good and living Danish without using pathos or red pencils".
